Hannah Circle was organized in April 2004.
MISSION STATEMENT:
"Women of purpose and prayer doing God's work".
Our mission is to live more Christ-like and to know God. We wish to develop a creative fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
We believe in service to the church.
WHO WAS HANNAH?:
Hannah means "The woman who personifies ideal motherhood".
Her husband's name was Elkanah. He loved her very much and felt sympathy towards her because Peninnah, her rival, made fun of her because she could not have children. At meals he gave her double portions of meat because he loved her so much.
She began to pray to God to give her a son and promised Him that if He gave her one she would dedicate him to the Lord all the days of his life. She was praying so hard that when Eli, the priest, saw her, he thought she was drunk. After she told Eli that she was praying to the Lord because of her sadness, he said:
"Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him". God gave her a son and she named him Samuel. Hannah gave him to the Lord to serve Him all the days of his life.
